Urgent Access Appointments
Longrove Surgery runs an urgent on the day appointment service every morning from 8.30am. You will be seen by a Nurse Prescriber initially and if required will be referred to a GP either on the day or as a matter of routine.
To use this urgent on the day service please call the surgery on 020 8370 6660 from 8am to be added to the list. You will be given a time slot. Please do not arrive before this if possible as the waiting room is limited in size.
You should be prepared to wait as patients will be seen based on clinical need and elderly patients and children may be seen first.
This service is for acute, minor illnesses and complaints that need to be dealt with on the same day that you feel cannot wait for a routine appointment. Examples include;
- Earache, sore throats and nasal problmes
- Urinary Tract Infections
- Chest infections
- New eye problems
- New skin problems and rashes
- Abdominal pain, diarrhoea and vomiting
- New/acute back pain
- Fevers
- Insect bites
- Hayfever
Your local pharmacist may be able to help and advise you in the first instance (particularly with coughs and colds)and we advise you use this service after having discussed it with a pharmacist wherever possible.
If you have an ongoing condition please pre-book an appointment with a GP of your choice rather than use this service, in order to free up appointments on the day. This clinic cannot deal with routine issues and you will be asked to make a normal appointment.
We are not a minor injuries clinic and wounds, sprains and bony injuries should be seen at Finchley Memorial walk-in centre where more appropriate care can be received.
You should be prepared to wait as patients will be seen based on clinical need and elderly patients and children may be seen first.
