Prescribing of Semaglutide (Wegovy®) for weight loss

Recent newspaper articles and press suggested this week that Semaglutide (Wegovy®) is to be available on prescription for weight loss. 

This drug is not yet available in the UK and a period of implementation is needed as with any new national guidance.  Primary Care are unable to currently prescribe this drug.  Please refrain from booking an appointment with a GP or Nurse for this reason as the drug will not be prescribed.
